Cool Tools
« on: May 28, 2012, 05:49:23 AM »
Hi all,

this is my latest Shade rendering, based on a very old Photoshop technique from Photoshop Guru Kai Krause.
Since i like to create rounded letters very much, because they look imho more eye appealing than those flat
standard letters in a modeling program, i thought i tackle this modeling problem again. I did such rounded
letters years ago also in Silo, but box modeling those letters as SubD objects takes a bit to long for my taste
and i thought i give Kai's old technique a try again* in combination with ZSurf and MoI. This technique is
probably the fasted way to create nicely rounded letters for a rendering program... :-)

*oh yeah, it's long ago since i learned Kai's techniques, way back in the good old Photoshop 2.x days, lol!
Hope you like!

Best regards
Stefan

Hi all,

here's another more extreme one, with a Graffiti font used, showing the words "Shader's Cafe".
This is a good example imho of how one can go wild with all kind of letters with PS, ZSurf and of course MoI.
Hope you get a little inspiration from this technique and try it out on your own.

Hope you like!

Regards
Stefan
